Barbara Ann Briggs is a “citizen of the universe” who has devoted her life to spiritual perfection. She is a graduate in philosophy from New York University, a poet, a teacher of Transcendental Meditation, a Yogic Flying gold medalist, a freelance journalist, a former dancer and a tanpura accompanist.
She has lived in India for over 20 years, visited many holy sites in the Himalayas, practiced meditation for many years and studied Sanskrit in Varanasi. She appreciates the inherent beauty and sanctity of all spiritual traditions. India was chosen as my abode by my destiny. The inner call came the first time I set foot in India.
She enjoys walking in the mountains, listening to Gandharva Veda music, writing articles, painting and Sanskrit recitation.
She has written three books, The Contribution of Maharishi’s Vedic Science to Complete Fulfillment in Life, Pilgrimage on the Path of Love and The Secret of Creative Abundance, and over 250 poems, and given poetry recitals in various venues in New York and London.
