What is time? How can we use time to progress? Is time really important?
These are the questions I propose to address.
Time is a mental concept which we have super-imposed on the eternal canvas of life.
The mind has broken the timeless, unbounded wholeness of life into measurable fragments.
The result is that the mind often feels trapped in the web it has created!
Many times people say: “I don’t have time!”
This is the negative aspect of our relationship to time.
But there is a positive aspect too.
The benefit of our awareness of time is to make us value each moment as precious.
Time can be used to prioritize our actions so that no time is frittered away in frivolous pursuits. We can ask ourselves: Is this action aligned with the ultimate purpose of my life?
In this way, time can be used to propel us forward on the path of evolution.
“The factor of time is very vital in life. Those who have accomplished great things in world have been those who valued time in their life. The time of life is limited and a great amount of evolution has to be accomplished for fulfillment of life. Therefore, the factor of time must be valued above everything else.” – Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
Time is important because moments lost can never be retrieved.
There is enough time in life to accomplish all our goals if we use our time well.
It is also possible to transcend the boundaries of time by experiencing pure consciousness.
The experience of pure consciousness infuses life with more creative inspiration, innovative intelligence, and energetic vitality.
Pure consciousness is a state of inner silence in which the mind experiences the eternal, unbounded wholeness of life.
This state can be experienced easily through the practice of Transcendental Meditation.
